This Friday (2025/4/25), BRAVA Energia announced the appointment of Carlos José do Nascimento Travassos as its new Offshore Operations director. After a transition period, he will replace Carlos Ferraz Mastrangelo, who chose to end his term in April/2025, for personal reasons. BRAVA’s Board of Directors approved Travassos’ appointment in January.

Travassos commented, “It is a great responsibility and a unique opportunity to take up the office of director of BRAVA’s Offshore Operations. Without a doubt, I want to carry on and contribute to the excellent work that has been done at the company. I truly believe in the team’s united ability to continue delivering consistent and sound results. We will focus on the efficiency of our offshore assets, valuing the expertise of the BRAVA team”.

The office assumed by Carlos Travassos will be responsible for operations at the Atlanta field, which started producing under the Definitive System on December 31, 2024. Among Travassos’ assignments for 2025 is the integrated campaign for the Atlanta and Papa-Terra fields. Approved in February this year, the campaign covers the start of Phase Two of the Atlanta Definitive System, with the drilling and interconnection of two wells, and increasing the recovery factor at the Papa-Terra field, through the drilling of another two wells. There is also an option for developing Malombe, by drilling one well and connecting it (tieback) to Peroá.

Carlos Travassos is a mechanical engineer with postgraduate studies in Business Management of Oil and Gas and Renewable Energies. He has over 39 years of experience and until December 2024 served as vice president for Investment and Digital Technologies at Braskem. Previously, he had built his career in Brazil and abroad with Petrobras, where he worked for 35 years, in addition to four years in the shipbuilding sector, with the Brazilian Navy. During his career at Petrobras, he held several leadership positions, including executive director of Engineering, Technology and Innovation; executive manager for the Deepwater segment; and executive manager of Surface Systems, Refining, Gas and Energy.
