In March, Brava began activities under the Social Communication Plan (PCS) and Environmental Education Project (PEA) in local communities in the state of Bahia. These initial activities mark the resumption of INTERAGIR [Interact Program] in the local communities during the 2025 cycle – aimed at reinforcing HSE awareness, providing guidance on the company’s operations in the area, raising awareness regarding pipeline integrity and reinforcing the promotion of the “Fale com a Gente [Talk to Us]” (0800 0800 301) channel.
Moreover, these initial events are presenting the results achieved in the previous year and validating the action plan to be implemented in 2025 – related to environmental education initiatives organized on thematic lines, based on the key ideas mapped out and developed in each community: Community Organization – Institutional Strengthening; Rural Technical Support – Sustainability in the Countryside; Community Entrepreneurship; and Cultural Identity – Heritage, Traditions and Ecosystem Conservation.
Socio-Environmental analyst Paola Marques emphasized that, “In addition to meeting the legal requirements and environmental conditions, these initiatives are part of the company’s INTERAGIR Program guidelines, which aim to develop and support structural socio-environmental initiatives that are participatory, promote collective effects and deliver sustainable results”.
With a schedule of field activities extending until October/2025, to comply with the environmental licensing process and address more than 40 communities in the Recôncavo and Rio Ventura clusters, INTERAGIR will culminate this cycle in an event scheduled for November.
According to Ezequiel, a leader of the Arauaris community: “Today, we have a company that cares about environmental issues and the community and is developing projects so the community can think of its future. With these opportunities for sustainable development, in the future the communities can be self-sustaining, and that is something really good”.
